Biography
of Lui Gino De Grandis
Lui Gino De Grandis was born in Italy in a small town near the
city of Venice. As a young boy he was fascinated with the lagoons
and boats which are the natural landscape of his hometown. He
developed a keen eye for specifics and demonstrated a talent for
drawing. At the time, he used photography only as a tool, taking
images that he later painted. But one day he took another look
at his photography and has since enthusiastically pursued his
newfound passion.
While his work
covers a broad range of subjects including landscape photography
and photojournalism, he has always maintained a passion for portraiture.
De Grandis' ability to put his subjects at ease allows the personalities,
emotions, and inner qualities of the people he photographs to
find their unique expression on film.
Gino De Grandis has had exhibitions in California and Europe.
His work has appeared in Sunset Magazine, on the cover of the
San Francisco Chronicle, Business Time, San Mateo Times and many
other local and regional publications.
